I recently finished a two months placement with Sky Creative, which gave me a great insight into the world of broadcasting. This experience was obviously completely different from the one I had at the National Theatre (the paintframe) and it has really made me think about which direction to go in my future career.

I would like to thank Paul Butler for allowing me to do the placement and the whole team, for being so helpful and encouraging! Some of the highlights were: visiting the building for the transmissions (which looks a bit like a spaceship from inside), going to the audio suite to see how the imagery and sound come together and to learn more about 3D TV.

I have had scheduled talks with people from various departments, joined meetings and followed the progress of several projects. I have also worked on an opening sequence for Movie News, which is a student brief set by the creative design director.

Next in my calendar is a placement with Sky Arts and after that I will spend a few weeks with the guys at DixonBaxi.

It is all very exciting!
