Hey guys...

Hello hello,

I hope you are all doing well on this year out!
Here's a brief catch up of my year so far...
I worked over the summer at a place called UndergroundBLC based in Southwark, London. I did a lot of corporate stuff; designing logos, creating adcepts, stylising documents etc. for companies such as ING and Parker & Co. ING picked a logo that I designed for their spring ball, and used an invitation design of mine also. I loved working there and was lucky enough to be asked back to freelance for a day to help meet a deadline.
Currently I am working for Misha Anikst of Anikst Design with Shumina, and am having a fantastic time. The company is so very different to Underground, but I love the work (designing books) and have learnt a great deal. Misha is Russian and it is such a great opportunity to learn from someone who knows so much about typography and graphic design. I have been asked to stay until February to work on a book about the history of the Olympics, which will have my name in when published!
But what is next on the horizon?
Well, I plan to take some time off to work on my dissertation. Then hopefully another one or two placements, preferably one with a magazine.
So far I feel I have learnt a lot about the industry. Working on this book from its creation to its publication will be a fantastic opportunity. I feel more comfortable about graduating now, I feel more at ease with the interview process and have some ideas about what area of design I want to venture into.
So fingers crossed! And it is so lovely to read about others' experiences.

Much love,

Danielle x
